As a sufferer from kidney cancer I am acutely aware of the importance of research to give the physicians and surgeons the tools to help save lives and also improve quality of life.
I also have a number of friends and acquaintances who have suffered a variety of kidney diseases, some of whom are going through kidney transplants during 2009/2010.
With the help of my daughter Dale I aim to raise £1000 before the end of 2011 both as a thank you for the surgeons who dealt with my cancer but also to help those with kidney disease in the future. Oh, and I am 60 during 2010 as well. Dale is joining me to provide the physical input for walks, runs and other events while I will do what I can to raise money through less energetic means as I also suffer from long term spinal degeneration.
