Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
It has been a dream of mine to run in the London Marathon and I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to run on behalf of the Severn Hospice.
Last year I ran in the Tokyo Marathon and completed it within 4 hours. I am hoping to be able to finish the 2009 London Marathon within 3 hours 10 minutes.
I have lived in the UK for one year now and live close to our local Severn Hospice. I am aware that in recent years, some employees (at the company where I work) and their families have received care from the Hospice and this is why I have chosen this charity as the money I raise will help people within the local area.
The Severn Hospice offers specialist care to those suffering from serious illness and requires £5,000,000 a year to provide its wide range of services to the local community. Less than a third of this sum comes from government funding and the Hospice relies on voluntary income and support for the remainder. This means that with total daily running costs of £10,000, each and every day they have to raise £7,000 to keep the Hospice open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Severn Hospice gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please, please sponsor me now!
