The Mountain Men are back!
Fresh from conquering Borneo, the lads have set themselves a 'local' challenge for 2008, a simple walk in the park.
Actually it's in three National Parks as they undertake the gruelling Three Peaks Challenge - climbing the three highest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales - Scafell Pike, Ben Nevis and Snowdon, all within 24 hours. Put simply this involves climbing over 3400 metres (and coming back down) walking over 25 miles and driving nearly 500 miles within a 24 hour period.
Why are we doing it?
Our aim is to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital NHS Trust (GOSH) to help fund research into childhood cancers at the UCL Institute of Child Health and support the work of GOSH.
This is to help children like the daughter of close friends of mine, Molly Biederman who died at GOSH on December 30 2006 after a courageous 14 month battle against Wilms Tumour. She was just 5 years old.
This JustGiving page was created in conjuction with www.wecanbeatwilms.org. Please visit to learn more about Molly and for a better understanding about Wilms Tumour.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to donate: Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity (GOSHCC) will receive your money electronically and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in Gift Aid will be added to your donation at no cost to you.
Please donate generously.
Many thanks for your support.
