I have trained to teach English as a foreign language and will be volunteering to work with children in Sri Lanka in August this year. Please could you give to these children by sponsoring me to volunteer with them.

Sri Lanka is still a long way from recovering from the tsunami in 2004 and there are thousands of children left orphaned by over 20 years of civil war, having been forced to flee their homes - some several times before they reach adulthood.

These children face a bleak future, but education will help them escape from poverty and a little knowledge of English will help them access a huge employment market - the tourism industry.
