My story

So I wanted to do something to raise money for Macmillan…… I had ovarian cancer 10 years ago and Macmillan paid my rent for 2 months which I’ve never forgotten. Being so unwell makes you see life a little differently and to be healthy and fit is a luxury and not to be taken for granted.

I started cycling 2 years ago  and got the bug. My partner is an awesome cyclist and so is very encouraging and supportive. Last year I did my first  100 mile ride which was the hardest thing I have ever done and incredible to achieve. I had heard of the Fred Whitton cycling challenge, people I know have done it and then I watched some of it last year, I swore I would never do it, ridiculously hard! It is renowned as the hardest Sportive in the country with its 112 miles and 12500ft climbing. It seemed an impossible thing to do but somehow I’ve ended up getting a place and now I have to be as committed as I can be or I may die!

I think that by doing this its worth some sponsorship, it will take a lot of training and will be incredibly hard to achieve. if you feel you can  I’d really appreciate a donation for this amazing charity who I personally owe a lot to.  If you would like to read about my training stories you can read  my blog here

Thank you in anticipation.

A great cause! Donation courtesy of my slight gambling addiction and watford's surprise victory. What does it cost to see you do it on a fixie?
