Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have recently been advised that on medical grounds I need to stay silent for the next three weeks for fear of doing permanent damage to my vocal cords. Anyone that knows me will be well aware that I love the sound of my own voice so this is going to be very difficult even though I know I have no real choice! In the next three weeks I have a variety of challenges. There are meetings at work I need to find a way of contributing in. I have an 8 hour return train journey to Middlesbrough as well as 90 minutes of painful football in the middle to endure in silence! I also have a loving wife at home who will probably get fed up of me trying to ask her to do things with gestures or a big flipchart! I also have a couple of work trips away in travelodges at the other side of the country and not being to ring my wife when I'm alone in a hotel room for the night is utterly depressing!
Basically the next three weeks are going to be sodding miserable and I suspect rather lonely too so I decided to try and raise some money for The Free Kicks Foundation, a wonderful little charity that offers disadvantaged kids football related days out. It's a cause close to my heart and every penny you donate to them will make the next 3 weeks pass so much easier for me.
I will keep you updated with how the 3 weeks goes and the novel ways I find to communicate beyond my traditional method of speaking louder than anyone in the room!
Thanks for your support and you know you will all hear from me at the end of the month!
