Hi everyone!
I'll be going to Zambia, in Africa, to a town called Mapalo in the city of N'dola this summer 2009 for 8 weeks.
In this town, there are currently many children out on the streets as severely impoverished orphans, without basic shelter and food and who are very much deprived of proper education in their young lives. Not only do the children suffer, but the whole town faces many challenges that are due to the extreme poverty. This is where I come in to do the best I can amongst a group of people I will be working with for the whole summer. I'll be teaching subjects such as english, maths, science, and other essential skills such as computing and even sewing! These are vital skills that the children need to develop in order for them to have the best of opportunities in their near future!
There will also be some physical work involved such as painting and plastering walls of schools and community buildings which I will be helping out with as well.
To do all this, I need to raise £2,500 that will cover my travel fees, accommodation and food whilst I'm doing the project which will last 8 weeks. The remaining amount of money raised will be donated straight to the charity!
Please help me to reach this goal! I'll be fundraising throughout the year, working hard and trying to earn as much as possible, but any amount of donation in the mean time would be GREATLY appreciated!
Donating through this website is a secure and quick method of payment. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me as Hope for Children will receive your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation!
Thank you for all your support, and hope you have a good day!
