Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for CLIC Sargent.

On 21st June, Sarah and I embark on the greatest challenge we have ever had to face - The Round Britain Offshore Powerboat Race.  www.roundbritainrace.co.uk  We are the only all-girl crew in this much anticipated revival of the world's toughest offshore powerboat race.  Starting from Portsmouth on Midsummer's Day, June 21st, we join a fleet of 50 high powered vessels spearing westward to commence an eight leg, ten day charge around the coast of Britain.

This is a huge endurance race with some legs well over 200 nautical miles through some extremely difficult seas.  We are amateurs racing against the best. However, with fantastic support from Scorpion RIBs www.scorpionribs.com, Dubois Naval Architects www.duboisyachts.com and Duncan Hamilton & Co www.duncanhamilton.com, we are having excellent training and help to make this race possible for us. We are very fortunate to be racing a 10m Scorpion RIB with twin 315 hp diesel inboard engines.  She is a fantastic machine; fast, safe, beautiful and comfortable.  During our training we are cruising comfortably at 50 knots and can push her a little faster!

We are raising funds and awareness for CLIC Sargent www.clicsargent.org.uk , the UK's leading children's cancer charity.

CLIC Sargent was chosen by Team Scorpion Dubois to follow on the support given by the Dubois Cup, first held in 2007 in Palma,Mallorca.  Considerable sums were raised at that event for the charity and Team Scorpion Dubois wish to follow on from that success.

Ed and Honor Dubois have been very impressed by the work of CLIC Sargent because of personal experience with one of their own children and have seen at first hand how many families struggle to cope often over many years when a child is going through treatment.  CLIC Sargent can make a difference between families surviving this ordeal or not, by offering support both in hospital and at home.
