Emmaus tackles the problems of homelessness through a network of self-supporting Communities, where people are offered a home, work and a sense of belonging. Emmaus residents (or "Companions" as they are known), each have a room of their own and work together, refurbishing and selling donated goods. Each Emmaus Community aims to become self-sufficient through raising income in this way. In an atmosphere of practical support, Companions have an opportunity to gain new skills and regain their self-respect while working to support other people in greater need. Emmaus UK is the national charity which supports existing Communities and assists the network of Groups which are working to develop new projects.

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

Trekking to Everest Base Camp has been a dream of mine for some time but as well as being a personal challenge I want it to have real purpose and so I am raising money for Emmaus which is a fantastic charity for the homeless.

I have seen the amount of work that has gone into getting the new project in Hampshire off the ground and want to raise as much as possible.

Update

Well I did it!! The trek to Base Camp was tough going and extremely cold and only 7 of our team of 15 made it all the way. I am amazed that I was one of them but the thought of letting the charity down definitely kept me going.

My webpage is open until March 18th so I am on a mission to raise more funds for Emmaus now that I am home. Please give as generously as you can.
