Story
Thanks for visiting team Mong Way Round’s fundraising page. If you haven’t already, then please check out our main website for more details on our challenge: www.mongwayround.com
In July, Robbie, David, Henrik and Tim will be embarking on the Mongol Rally 2009 – an epic 10,000 mile journey to Mongolia to raise money for Mercy Corps.
Covering a distance more than a third of the way around the world we intend to visit France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Montenegro, Albania, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgystan, Kazakhstan, Russia and finally Mongolia.
We estimate this will take us around 5 weeks to complete. At the end of our journey (assuming we actually get there in our suitably shoddy cars) the cars will be auctioned off in the Mongolian capital Ulan Baatar for charity.
Mercy Corps is a fantastic charity, raising money for projects all over the world including Mongolia, Bosnia, Kosovo, all over the Middle East and throughout Africa and Asia. These projects are as far-ranging as sweeping for mines in Bosnia to helping Iraqi refugees in Syria with training and job skills. Their work is as important as it is varied and we will be visiting their projects in Bosnia to see first-hand what good they are doing for the communities and to help out for a couple of days.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Mercy Corps gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation. So please sponsor us now!
