I want to achieve two things by competing in the New York Marathon on 1 November 2009. The first is to raise money for The Eve Appeal and second, to do this by putting myself through the hardship of something I said I would never do.
Three months ago, I gave up alcohol (for those that know me well, a monumentl challenge in its own right!), bought some Lycra, donned some fancy running shoes and began training. Several injuries and physio appointments later, I am into my final weeks of preparation.
