Annually, without fail, many slightly crazy people take to the streets of London to participate in a 26 mile tortuous journey to raise money for various charities in need of financial support. Concern Worldwide is just one of these many charities and we are just two of the slightly crazy people donning their lycra and 80s sweat bands on the 25th April 2010 to hit our target of £4,000.
Focused on supporting a sustainable education system in Sierra Leone, the money raised through pounding the streets of our empowering city will support projects to rebuild and re-equip primary schools. Your spare pennies will provide appropriate and quality training for local teachers, support communities to take on the management of the schools as well as ensure that schools are a healthy, hygienic and safe environment for children. Sierra Leone needs you!!!
We aren't fitness fanatics. We don't even like running minimal distances. We certainly don't like sweaty slicked back hair, sore feet, cramped legs and stitches. However, we will be running the London Marathon and unless you fancy chasing us around our capital, a £4,000 incentive will push us across the finish line.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
