My story

Moths are a beautiful and key part of our natural world.
However a recent study found that the total abundance of larger moths declined by 28%, this figure 40% in southern Britain, with two thirds of those species studied in decline. In addition over 150 species are threatened in the UK alone.
To help save these beautiful creatures Butterfly Conservation has established the Moth Challenge Fund to support key conservation projects across the UK .
Moths play a vital role within the food chain providing an important food source for bats and birds and a range of other animals. They are also pollinators.
By helping them and creating moth habitats where they can thrive we will also be supporting a wide variety of other native wildlife.
