Story
Hello Boys and Girls, hope you are all well!
On Sunday 17th April 2005, I made history by completing the 25th London Marathon in approximately 6 hours. It has to be the toughest physical challenge of my life! The first half of the marathon didn't seem so bad as i did in approximately 2 hours 15 mins. The second half of the marathon was just torture! My left knee was swollen and bruised with my knee cap moving around which meant i had to walk the last 7 miles to the end. Trust me, it wasn't easy!! The main thing was that i got to the finish line. I have to thank all those spectators that came out to support on the day. I have never witnessed an atmosphere like it before.
Yes, I did take a trip to the hospital the next day and i was on crutches for two weeks after! (Got my prediction right!) My knee is feeling better but can't say its 100% just yet.
Would i do it again? Yes, i'd give it a few years first and i would definitely train more than i did!
Thank you to all those that have been so generous by sponsoring me either online or on the sponsorship form, i do really appreciate it and i'm sure the 4 charities do aswell. If you still haven't had a chance to sponsor me, it's still not too late:
You can sponsor me on this secure website or alternatively give me a call if you would prefer to sponsor me over the phone as I have sponsorship forms that I can fill in by hand - 07870 114 901. Email: Mukesh.Desai@uk.bosch.com or jenko15@hotmail.com For those that have sponsored offline, please can you send me a cheque ASAP as i need to get the money to the charities. This bit is from the Charity - Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: BEN- Motor And Allied Trades Benevolent Fund will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. So please sponsor me now! Many thanks for all your support. Mukesh
