I DID IT (In 4 Hours 15 Mins 5 Seconds!)

I finished Flora London Marathon 2005, almost a year after I told myself I would do anything to reach the finish line.

Was it hard? Yes!
Was it worth all the training and time? Yes Yes Yes!
Would I do it again? For sure, anytime!
Does your muscles still hurt? A bit.... hehe
What's next? Stavanger Half-marathon :-) Thank you to everyone who donated to Veninos (you can still donate...) and thank you to everyone who cheered and screamed my name as I ran the streets of London. Again, thanks to all support from friends and families!! Hope to see you next year London.... -Martin ::To see who donated and sponsored please scroll below:: Hello My name is Martin Svangtun and I am a 22 years old. I am Norwegian , but I currently attend Aarhus School of Business in Denmark where I do a BScB degree. Before I finished high-school in Norway I was lucky to live and go to school in Caracas. Venezuela is a very beautiful country with some of the world's most wonderful sights and landscape. The country is nicely located next to the Caribbean ocean, and it's vast amount of natural resources (energy/tourism potential) exceed what most countries can only dream of. Present situation however is not so pleasent for all of the 25 million inhabitants of Venezuela. Political and economical instability for the past decade(s) have placed most of the country's population in lives of poverty and crime. Almost 50% of the population live in the slum (barrios) and a larger part of these 50% are children. The catastrophical landslide in late 1999 buried some 40,000 people and left many children both homeless and without parents. During my stay in Caracas, I got to see some of the Orphanages and help out as a student of CIC (www.cic-caracas.org). I know that it does not take a lot of help to increase the quality of life for children in need, and that is why I want to dedicate my participation in the London Flora Marathon 2005 to Veninos (www.veninos.org). Veninos is a UK registered charity, dedicated to improving the lives of street and shantytown children in urban Venezuela. This will be my first marathon and I am proud that my effort and training can help a charity like Veninos. Please drop the pint of beer, tonigh's candy or the next lottery ticket and give a few to the many in need.... Kind regards, Martin -------------------------------- Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Veninos will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. So please sponsor me now! Many thanks for your support.
