Hi, thanks for visiting my page. My name is Paul and I am a crew member for Team Edinburgh Inspiring Capital on Leg 4 of the Clipper 09/10 Round the World Yacht Race. I will race from Australia to Singapore to China, in a 68ft stripped down racing yacht across 5,200 miles of ocean in some of the most extreme weather conditions this planet has to throw at us.
I have chosen to support Honeypot through this amazing challenge, and all the money I raise will go directly to benefit the children they work with. In addition to my travels, the Honeypot mascot Bumble, will cover the whole of the race, being passed on at the end of each leg to a new crew member on a new boat. In total this little bee, will travel 35,000 miles in 10 months!
There will be an Auction of some of my Extreme Sailing Equipment, on my return, that I would have used during the race, these are Official Clipper Round the World/Henri-Lloyd clothing, this will include:
HENRI-LLOYD OCEAN SMOCK, fully sign written with 09/10 Logos - Size Large
HENRI-LLOYD OCEAN SALOPETTES, fully sign written with 09/10 Logos - Size Large
LIMITED EDITION A2 PHOTO OF EDINBURGH INSPIRING CAPITAL
All the money raised from these will be going to Honeypot. You can't buy these items and are unique to the race, plus you will look so cool in them! More details to follow on my return in March.
At the end of the race, 'Bumble' will be put into 7 childrens books, being writen by myself, other crew and someone very famous, to be announced soon. These books will then be published and used for Honeypot to raise as much money as possible. I am looking for a Cartoonist, that is willing to help with these amazing books, so if you are in a position to help and in return get loads of publicity, then please get in touch.
I am also looking for a Corporate Sponsor, to help finance these books to get them published. If you would like your Company to gain extra publicity and in turn help these amazing children, then please contact me on aquameridian08@googlemail.com
You can see how the race is going by visiting www.clipperroundtheworld.com with the race viewer and this gets very addictive, with 3 hour reports of our location, along with weather overlays.
My boat is also on Facebook, with our very own 'Supporters Pages' so please visit:
'Clipper 09-10 Edinburgh Supporters Club' www.facebook.com/home.php#/group.php?gid=89815017366 to get some of the latest views from the crew and familey supporting us and why not become a member and support Bumble round the world.
I am aiming to raise £2000. Any donation you can give will help to make a real difference to many vulnerable childrens' lives - thank you.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Honeypot Charity gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
