Trek to Machu Picchu following the Inca Trail, Peru.
Sheila's story
My son Gareth has the condition, Angelman’s Syndrome, he was diagnosed when he as 16 and is now 30. I have never raised money for the condition before but to satisfy a dream I and two friends have paid to go on the Charity trek to Machu Picchu and we hope you might support us to raise some funds for ASSERT through sponsership. This organisation supports both people who have the condition and their families and funds research into the condition. There are so few who suffer from Angelman’s Syndrome that it is hard to attract sufficient funding, and the organisation tends to be reliant on parents and friends for support.I have begun a freer chapter in my life as Gareth now lives supported in the community. For the first time I have some time to give back a little, use the energy I have and with the support of my two friends Nadine (who supports Gareth in his own home) and Ann(who provides work opportunities for people with learning difficulties) celebrate Gareth’s love of movement and climb high.
