Why your donation matters

Your donation will help our members receive treatments and therapies to help them live well with Multiple Sclerosis.

Recently, supporters have funded a day's wages of one of our specialist physiotherapists to enable them to work on a one to one basis with our members. This helps to maintain and improve joint mobility, prevent muscle spasms, maintain general fitness and normal patterns of movement,a s well as providing general advice

Physiotherapy then in turn aids limb control and walking, improves strength, delays further secondary problems.

Case study: donations in action

Kirsty's Story

I had my first MS attack at 16 and was diagnosed at 18. It was a relief when I got the diagnosis, as it explained why I was so tired, clumsy and always ill. I soon started drug trials, none of which seemed to do any good.

It was 8 long months before I found out about the MS Centre. During this time my life was a routine of getting out of bed, lying on the sofa and going back to bed. I had no energy and things just seemed to be getting worse. I started having oxygen therapy and within days the improvement was incredible. I now have physiotherapy to relax the muscles in my legs too.

I can get up in the morning and have the energy to go out and about, it has given me back some of the life I had before. Suddenly, I can see my friends again.

The atmosphere at the Centre is wonderful, people are so friendly and chatty. I would feel lost without the Centre, it has become a massive part of my life.
