Hi All,
I have set myself a huge challenge this year and will be taking part in this years 'Great South Run'.
Yes, that's right; I am RUNNING 10 miles!!!
I have cut out the cakes, pies and chocolate and Im determined to cross that finish line!! The event is televised and you can spot me as I shall be the one who is red faced, gasping for air and on my knees one whilst being battered by the sea, rain and wind.
My chosen charity is the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.
As many of you are well aware, Ethan(our son) was badly burnt in a terrible accident at home. He had burns on his face, arms, chest and tummy.Ethan was sixteen months when this happened and it was made even more difficult because I had just given birth to our daughter Anya. She was only five days old!
My neighbour called the emergency services and the response was immediate. My fears were further heightened when a helicopter was heard over our house!
Ethan was quickly airlifted to Odstock burns unit in Sailsbury by the AMAZING crew on board this air ambulance and both myself and my husband Andy stayed with him until he was safe to return home.
The Air Ambulance is a charity and relies solely on donations and fundraising events to keep them in the air.
Such donations allow them to save lives, just like our son Ethan. The cost of running this service is apparently £92,000 per month.
I would be most grateful if any persons would like to sponsor me in my charity run.
