Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
I'm hoping to raise £2000 in order to volunteer in Vietnam for six weeks this summer. I will be teaching english as a foreign language, to help boost the economy of the country, and teaching the orphans of the Home of Affection Orphanage in Hue City to swim, which is really important as the city floods annually.
At least £400 of the money I am raising is a direct donation to the charity, Hue Help, a children's charity which supports the orpanage and many other projects in Vietnam. They provide the children with an education, organise swimming lessons, and run a mobile clinic, among other things. The money goes to the poorest communities in the region.
I will be carrying out a number of collections, bag-packing, organising some sort of club night, doing cake sales and anything else I can think of in order to raise the necessary money. If you'd like to help me, then any donations would be fantastic as £2000 seems very far away and it's all for a good cause!
Last weekend (5th/6th March) I successfully walked 55 miles to raise money :). Thanks to everyone who sponsored me, I couldn't have done it without you and you all made it so much more worthwhile!
Also, I'd like to say a big thanks to my personal Tutor Dave Harris for being my reference and to Jenny Barstow (RAG) for helping me with my risk assessment for the Manchester Student Zochonis Travel Award, which I have now been awarded!
I still have a long way to go, though so any donations would be really appreciated!
Thanks again!
