I managed it in 3hours 55mins! Whoo!
Lots of thanks to the lady from Bedford (originally Irvine) who helped me through 4 very very tough miles to get me under the 4 hour mark....
and thank you so so much to everyone who's sponsored me! You are all * STARS! *
I know I have a habit of doing some crazy things, and yes afterwards I sit and think was that really sensible... well 26.2 miles is definately mad, but the cause is worth it and I know I wont regret this once in a lifetime challenge!
The Samaritans are an amazing charity, one that doesnt get enough support...
They touch people from every walk of life, and mental health is linked to everything in this world, social issues, poverty, environmental issues... all the things we care about all rolled into one and linked through our emotions...
Mental health or ill-health is not something that affects other people... it affects us, it affects the people we love, the samaritans are there 24hrs a day by phone, post, email....
I went to a suicide training day a while back and learnt how hard it really is to ask someone "are you feeling suicidal?" how many people could? its a lot to take on, its a lot to know what to say if the answer is yes, the samaritans are there to help...
... and there is happiness out the other side, there is support and love...
... there is 26.2 miles of road... and my wee feet are going to pound every inch of that road and do my damn hardest to raise every penny I can for the Samaritans!!!
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Samaritans gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
