National Trust is a charity and is completely independent of Government. It protects over 300 historic houses, gardens, industrial monuments and mills, opening them all to the public It also looks after forests, woods, fens, beaches, farmland, moorland, islands, castle, nature reserves, villages - for ever, for everyone.
