My story

April 15th.

Job done.

Thanks to you all.

Never again.

The latest of the Latest: (April3rd)

Just over a week to go...

...I have resumed running a while back, Ran 20 miles in Plymouth, 4 in Putney, 10 in Gelsenkirchen....wherever work has taken me.

...as I write this I am £70 short of £4,000....

...which is astonishing.

Thanks to all of you who have helped.

Now God help me.

Latest: (Feb10th)

I am delighted to say that the 2 grand limit was smashed some weeks ago. No reason not to keep donating though....but to all those who've helped me...

...THANK YOU.

Physically I have calf strains in both legs, and a bad left hip. I actually can't run at the moment. So that's good.

I think I'll walk it.

UPDATE: (Jan 19th) In 24 hours you have raised £1,100 pounds for ECHO, you shiny happy people.

You move me, motivate me and terrify me. But you should sleep very easy in your beds.

Thank you 1,100 times over.

The Marathon passes every year at the top of my road, then also at the bottom. We are sealed off all morning by men and women dressed as Ninja Turtles and Leeks shouting "Oggy Oggy Oggy!". Oi Oi Oi, I say. (Oi let me out of my bloody road).

So, given that I have no choice, I'll exercise my right to freedom of movement, and stick a number on my chest and shamble along the route. I won't be fast. But I will be there at the end.

Edie, the one who's looking even more grumpy than me in this old photo taken 2 years ago has a congenital heart defect. I have a congenital hair disorder. She bears her cross with more dignity than me, though.

ECHO have been a tremendous support to us all, ever since the day we were given their contact details in a grim side room at Guy's when we were discussing the future for our child. Get behind them. Please stick major wedge down.

Don't get behind me though. It might slow you down.
