Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and many thanks to those who have already contributed and also to those contributing following my 10k swim on the 24th July 2009.
Young Hearts provided invaluable support and advice to my sister and brother-in-law following the birth of my wonderful niece Amy who required two major heart operations within the first 3 vulnerable weeks of her life. Amy is now a beautiful and happy 8 months old baby who is progressing well. I would like to raise money to enable Young Hearts to continue to provide much needed support and advice to other families and enable them to continue to contribute to young children's nursing care, who may experience similar life threatening illnesses.
To raise money for Young Hearts I conducted an uninterrupted 10km swim on 24th July 2009. This is equivalent to 400 lengths of a standard 25m pool and was counted and verified by an official from the Amateur Swimming Association. Virgin Active kindly agreed to host the event for which I am very grateful. Training was rigorous and above all time consuming but thankfully paid off on the day!!! Thanks to those who came along on the day and to all my sponsors who spurred me on.
