Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

I'm living my dream and sailing around the world in the only crewed race available for non-professional sailors - The Clipper 09/10 Round the World Yacht Race. It's going to be an Adventure of a Lifetime. A Lifetime Achievement.

The race start date is 13th September 2009 and sets sail out of Hull in Humberside. The race finishes again in Hull on 17th July 2010. The route has not been set in stone yet, so anything could happen but it will roughly follow these destinations...

The Humber- La Rochelle - Rio de Janiero - Cape Town, South Africa - Fremantle, WA- Singapore - Qingdao - California - Panama Canal - Caribbean - New York- Cape Breton Island - Cork - Humber, UK. Phew! So taking in the Solent, Bay of Biscay, Atlantic (couple of times), Doldrums, Southern Ocean, Pacific, Panama Canal, Caribbean, Atlantic (again!), Irish Sea and a bit more Solent action.

Please follow my endeavors on www.clipperroundtheworld.com and my own blog http://neptunecalling.blog.com. Following Crew Allocation, I have been selected to race on the California boat. How exciting. I can't wait!

I hope to raise money for The Philip Green Memorial Trust,  www.pgmt.org . They work hard building projects in the UK and abroad. Latest projects include an integrated nursey school in North West London and a rehabilitation centre for mentally and physically disabled children in Nepal. Here they are receiving much needed physiotherapy. A profession close to my heart.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Philip Green Memorial Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!

Thank you so very much. Spread the word. Tell the world! Hope to see you in one of the ports of call... Elaine x.
