Story

21 Sept 2009 was haar laatste kuur.

Alvast bedankt!

Vriendelijke groeten,

Nero de Boer

PS. Ik hou jullie op de hoogte.

Dear friends and family,

As most of you know i'm planning to run the London Marathon on the 25th of April 2010.

That means running +- 26 miles for charity.

The charity i've chosen is: LEUKAEMIA CARE

I choose that charity, because two of my family members are suffering from leukaemia.

My auntie suffers from leukaemia since 17th of March 2009. She is only 34 years of age and mum of two young kids. She had 5 sets of chemo. The last one was on 21st of September. After that she received radio therapie. At last they have found a donor for her. A baby that was born in 2000 will be her donor. The operation will be on the 1st of October. After that she has to stay in hospital for two months for observation and recovery. Hopefully this treatment will work and she will be clear of cancer!

A few weeks ago around the 21st of August we heard that one of my nephews is suffering from leukaemia as well. He is only 5 years of age. He was on holiday while they discovered bruises all over his legs. doctors had him checked and said it was leukaemia. They flew back to London where he stayed in hospital and had his 1st chemo. At the end of this month he will receive his 2nd chemo.

Doctors say there is a good chance he will recover from leukaemia. Now its waiting.......................

They both stay in the Royal Marsden hospital where they receive great treatment and care.

This hospital is specialised in all sorts of cancer.

I want to support this charity, because they are doing such a great job.

Are you supporting me and pray for them???????????????????????

Many thanks in advance.

Kind regards,

Nero de boer

I'll keep you up to date.

18th of December:

My auntie is feeling much better now. The treatment is working, thank God.

She has a virus in her body which is why she's still in hospital.

once the virus is gone she can go home!

16-01-2010:

Yeahh, Good news! The virus is gone and she has been home for the last two days.

She is back in hospital now for 1 week. If she is still very well then she is allowed to go home permanently.

She can then be with her husband and kids again. She still needs to go to hospital for check ups.

But for now she is CANCER FREE!!!

My nephew is still receiving chemo every week, but he is allowed to go to school.

Which i think is better for him, keeps his mind of things.

16-01-2010: My nephew is coping so well. He celebrated his birthday this weekend.

Still receiving chemo every week.

About my training: I started in July. I build it up nicely untill September I could do

22km in 2,5 hours. But after I sufferd a knee injury for about 10 weeks.

still going to physio for exersice and treatment.

I started training again 4 weeks ago and i had to start all over again.

I'm feeling positive now as i've done 12 km in 1 hour my last training.

16-01-2010: I quit the physio and my knee is much better now.
