In a few short weeks (18th to 20th September) I will be riding from to on a shiny new bike - in aid of
Why a shiny new bike? Well, I haven’t owned a bike since I was12: the year of the miners' strike and the three day week, Richard Nixon’s resignation, and most surprisingly of all – the appointment of Mike Denness as cricket captain in preference to Geoff Boycott.
So as you will by now understand, this is a bit out of the ordinary for me.
Why Hospice Care? That’s the easy bit. There is a link on the left hand side of the page to the Hospice's own website. But anyone who has ever visited a hospice will know of the extraordinary work they do to support patients and families during very difficult times. I stand in awe of the nurses, doctors, counsellors and supporters of all kinds, and the selfless contribution that they make to deliver palliative care within the local community.
And all I have to do is perch for three days on a saddle that resembles a surgical instrument. Nowt to it, lad. We'll be in drekkly.
If you are able to make a donation, then donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cornwall Hospice Care gets your money faster and, if you're a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Many thanks
