Killy here we come...

On the 5th May 2007, some friends and myself will climb Ben Nevis.  Nevis is the highest mountain in th UK and although not the hardest, a good few of us doing the climb are asthma sufferers or have family who suffer from asthma.

On July 24th, myself and Nigel Stephenson are off to Tanzania to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa and the highest free standing mountain in the world.

Personally, I have asthma. My wife, two of my three children and my mum all have it to some degree.  Hannah, my eldest, has been in Hospital on a few occasions.  I never thought asthma could make a childs heart rate 200 beats per minute and breath rate of 75 per minute and involve various intravenous tubes etc.  My wife has been hospitalised by asthma, close to going into a coma.  My mum has suffered all her life through the days that treatments were not the same as they are now.

There were just under 1,400 deaths (1,381) from asthma in the UK in 2004 (40 were children aged 14 years or under). On average, 4 people per day or 1 person every 6 hours dies from asthma.

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Asthma UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
