About the charity
Every year The National Garden Scheme (NGS) opens nearly 4000 gardens across England and Wales. Through this the NGS raises over £2.5million for nursing, caring and gardening charities. (£22million raised over the last 10 years). Most of the work is done by volunteers, so over 80% of the money raised in gardens goes straight to help people who are ill or under stress.
