Todd's incredible story of his cancer journey

Why your donation matters

Each and every week, in Northern Ireland, three more families are told the devastating news that their child has cancer.

For these families life will change dramatically. Family outings will be replaced by constant trips to hospital. One parent may leave work to care for their child, often creating additional money worries and the lives of siblings will be turned upside down.

Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children starts helping families immediately after they are told the devastating news that their child has cancer. It is your generosity and kindness that funds the vital work we do. Thanks to you we let families know they are not alone by providing a lifeline of support.

These families depend on you - please donate today.

Case study: donations in action

Clare Sutherland talks about how she felt when her three year old daughter, Nicole, was diagnosed: “When you have a child with cancer it changes your whole perspective on life. I went to bed thinking about how to make Nicole better and it was my first thought on wakening up. You will face anything for your child and make whatever sacrifices need to be made.”

Often for parents these sacrifices involve giving up a job to care for their sick child and spending long periods of time apart from their family as one parent remains in hospital throughout their child’s treatment.

Clare says, “We went or days without seeing a soul as we couldn’t risk any infection being brought into the house. Our family support worker was Lynne and she was the highlight of our week. She would play with Nicole, who would sit and wait excitedly by the window for her to arrive.”

Please don’t wait, donate today and help us continue to help mums and daughters like Clare and Nicole. We depend on you.
