So i've decided to jump on the Kilimanjaro band wagon and see what all the fuss is about! The trip will be a once in a lifetime experience for me but will also provide important funding for Scope, a charity who raise money for people with cerebral palsy.
At this years Bath Half Marathon, much to my annoyance i had to start right at the back of the field in the orange zone. After i got over my selfish desire for a PB I couldn't help but admire all the people running for charity, dressed as anything from cheerleaders to chickens. I had been thinking for a while that i should raise some money each time i run at an event and that day inspired me.
So it starts here. But as well as climbing Kilimanjaro i hope to keep up the charity events by running the New York and London Marathons and realizing a personal dream of climbing a peak over 6000m by trekking to the summit of Aconcagua, Argentina. The highest peak outside the himalayas.
I will be contributing £1000 to the Kilimanjaro trek to cover my expenses for the trip so all the money you give will be going straight to the charity.
