30th April 2010
Well I did it, I completed the 26.2 mile course in 4 hours and 34 minutes which exceeded my own expectations but it was tough and only recently have I started to walk properly again.
The support, messages and donations I have received over the past 4 months has completely overwhelmed me, not only did I complete a massive personal challenge but in the process we have raised a lot of money for a brilliant cause, thank you all so very much.
I now need to ponder my next challenge although I will not rule out running the marathon again, after all I now have a time to beat.
Many many Thanks again for your support
Nick

As expected, the London Marathon is flying round (where did Jan, Feb and Mar go) and with little over 3 weeks til the big day, my training will start to wind down and nerves will start to jangle just that little bit more.
Training has gone pretty well, I have run twice over 20 miles and completed the Reading Half Marathon in a comfortable time of 1hr 56mins. I have one more long run left and then the taper (Rest period before the marathon) will start. I have now clocked up 350 miles which is like running from Portsmouth to Newcastle and still have another 100 more miles to run.
Thank you to all those who have sponsored me so far, as mentioned on the last update you will now be entered into the draw which will take place on the 23rd April 2010 at the Rose and Thistle in Frimley. In addition to the prizes below I now have a photo studio session, beauty products and treatments to add to the pot. Thank you to all those who have kindly donated prizes.
Finally, thank you again for all your support, I dont think I could have run all those miles without your support and kind words, if you are yet to donate please give whatever you can afford, it will make such a difference to so many people and please remember to add gift aid.

Hi
Many thanks for visiting my Just Giving page. As you will have gathered by now I am running the 2010 London Marathon for Asthma .
I am now 4 weeks into my training where I have clocked up nearly 100 miles, burnt approximately 13,000 calories and spent nearly 14 hours (normally in the early hours) on the pavements and treadmills of Surrey, Berkshire and Hampshire. I have run through rain, snow, hale and occasionally a little bit of sunshine although temperatures have rarely rised above freezing.
I still have a long way to go before I reach the London Marathon (354 miles according to my training plan) and so any donations spur me on that little bit further
You can follow my training progress on my twitter page (www.twitter.com/nickyjt) or via my blog http://nickrunsthemarathon.blogspot.com/. I will also endeavor to keep this page up to date.
Many thanks again for visiting my page, if you are able to do so please make a donation and be sure to add gift aid. Asthma UK do great work for Asthma sufferers like myself and with nearly 10% of the UK suffering from various degrees of Asthma, heavy demands are now placed on there services.
