My story

26.22 Miles is a long way to run.

And kids being mistreated is a bad thing.

If you disagree with the above then you need read no further.

If on the other hand, you are impressed by the idea of someone as old and unfit as me running Paula Radcliffe-esque distances (in Daniel Radcliffe-esque times) all towards the aim of raising money for children much less fortunate than you and yours, then read on.

On November 1st, 2009, I'll be running the New York Marathon. It’s quite possible I have some kind of untapped Usain Bolt-like natural talent for marathon running and the world record will be broken on my first attempt. It is also possible that I will be overtaken by a man in a Foghorn Leghorn costume, WWII veterans and that guy that does it in that antique diving bell over the course of 7 days.

The actual logistics of the run aside, we are raising money for the Children's Society which is an amazing charity that works with disadvantaged, abused and troubled children, helping them into a better life.

It would be great if we can hit the target of raising £1500 and so I'm asking you to dig deep into your pockets and donate some cash today. Any size of donation will be brilliant and will help towards the target, so give whatever you can - I won't judge you on the size of your donation. But remember that God will. So buy your place in heaven today – or at least cancel out a few minor sins.
