Dear Friends, Family and Colleagues…..
For those that did not know, the average person takes 2,000 steps to walk a mile.
That’s the average person.
I on the other hand, as most of you know, bring the average down considerably on the basis of my little legs.
My point being that on June 5th I will be attempting a double Marathon (well actually 54 Miles) in two days, a total of 108,000 steps ……………………for an average person.
Each year the Sport Industry Group undertakes a charity challenge to raise money for those kids socially excluded, who through sport, discover confidence, self esteem and a positive peer group. Three years ago we undertook the Three Peaks Challenge and last year we did a Marathon over the Alps. This year we have decided to step things up to a whole new level a Double Marathon across Hadrian’s Wall to raise money for the Greenhouse Schools Projects.
Greenhouse does fantastic work ……………….. They provide sports and arts programmes to 11 to 16 year olds in disadvantaged or deprived neighbourhoods and schools. Greenhouse believes that participation in sports provides a powerful opportunity for vulnerable young people to learn critical life and social skills. In addition to improved fitness, Greenhouse programmes help young people to learn teamwork, and to increase their self-confidence and self esteem.
So I know the pockets are near empty post London Marathon, but please dig a
little deeper to encourage me to finish 108,000 giant leaps for this great cause.

Thank you in advance
