BS4A helps rural communities replace dilapidated school buildings in Africa in association with SHUMAS Cameroon, each school has clean drinking water and segregated toilets to improve the children's health along with income generating projects for long term sustainability.
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. I have agreed to raise £18,000 over the next few months to enable the charity Building Schools for Africa to provide a new building for a Primary and Kindergarden School at OKK in the North West province of rural Cameroon. The school currently uses a dilapidated building borrowed from a local businessman. The 60 children learn in dark, primitive and overcrowded conditions. A new building, along with a supply of fresh clean drinking water and segregated lavatories will not only enhance the learning environment, but increase the pupil number to over 200. The new school building, will be constructed with the enthusiastic involvement of parents, locals and village elders. Your money will be paying for expensive items such as steel rods, concrete, cement and a good quality zinc roof. The new sturdy building will last for over 30 years giving thousands of children the opportunity of education.
To raise this money, together with the much needed and appreciated help of friends I am organizing a few events, the first of which is 'A Wild Affair' lunch in Gloucestershire in September. I will also be also working with several different schools to reach the total money needed. Your donation will help us get there faster and hopefully the building can start and have at least a roof, before the rainy season begins. THANK YOU.
