Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
Well I did it! I managed to climb Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the UK standing at 1,344m, Scafell Pike, the highest mountain in England standing at 978m and Snowdon the highest mountain in Wales standing at 1,085m in 28 hours. The trek covered 40kms and involved 2,984m of ascent and descent. The extra 4 hours was due to unforseen factors such as a support bus breaking down and extreme weather conditions which added over 2 hours to the driving time between peaks. We started Ben Nevis on time at 5pm. It was pouring with rain almost the whole way. We got soaked. It also rained on Scafell but not quite so bad. Unfortunately my mother only climbed Ben Nevis and 2/3rds of the way up Scafell Pike. She was all ready to do Snowdon but as we were 4 hours late and wouldn't be back until 10pm at the earliest it was decided that only those who had summited the other two peaks could do Snowdon. She is very disappointed but she was there to support me, which she did and between us we will definitely reach if not exceed our target of £2000 for The National Society for Epilepsy. There is one thing in her favour though - as today (Monday 6th July) whilst I'm nursing sore legs and blisters, she's only got her wounded pride to worry about (her words not mine).
There is still time to make a donation if you wish to support our chosen charity. Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: National Society for Epilepsy gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
You can see below a full list of the extremely generous people that have donated directly to the charity on line and the following people have donated off line and their money has been passed on to the Society: -
