About my charity : Action Duchenne Action Duchenne
Action Duchenne is a national charity that aims to find a cure for Duchenne, a severe genetic muscle wasting disease. The condition affects mainly boys and without treatment most of these young men are completely paralysed by their early teens and die by their late teens or early 20s. To ensure we do not lose another generation of young people to this terrible disease we need more funding for research and treatment.

My personal message:

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. I am running to support "Action Duchenne" because my friend's son Samuel (pictured) has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD).

Recently real progress has been made using new genetic research, and for the first time the dream of a treatment for DMD is a realistic possibility. However, progress is still hampered by a lack of funding.
