In 2006 I ran the Great Manchester Run for the first time to raise money for Kidney Research UK.  I remember being stopped half way round to speak to the media as Tanya was in hospital recuperating from her transplant. 

It's amazing what can change though from a little research, a few good men (and women), and from someone who not only carried a donor card but informed their family of their wishes. 

Now, just two short years later and our dreams are coming true: we are expecting our first child at any moment now.  All this would not have been possible without the research funded by charities such as Kidney Research UK (www.kidneyresearchuk.org.uk) and the transplant service (www.uktransplant.org.uk).  Not to mention the wonderful family who allowed all this to happen in the first place!  They not only helped Tanya but they have helped many people reclaim their lives with a much needed transplant.  Something so easy and simple can affect so many people in so many ways - so please dig deep and sponsor me online.
