My Dad, who recently died of cancer, spent much of his last month in the Nightingale Macmillan Unit in Derby. The staff and volunteers there couldn't possibly have given him better care, or indeed have been more sympathetic and helpful to myself and his other family and friends. We are all very grateful for their help, which I really do consider to be above and beyond the call of duty.

In September I will be running the Robin Hood Half Marathon in Nottingham, and am hoping to raise money to help the Nightingale. If anyone would like to donate and/or come and support me on the day, I shall be delighted!
