Hi everyone,
So we did it! The conditions were near perfect: a slight breeze and not too hot for most of the race. All our preperations and training also seemed to have paid off. The Team Mac supporters were great, coming around the corner to a whooping cacophony of well wishers and people shouting your name really spurred you on, and helped to remind us about the good cause we were doing it for, and all your very generous donations!! We couldn't let you or Macmillan down!
We both felt we ran the best race we could, beating our personal goals. I got a "sub 4 hour" time, (3:47:42). It was tough, but then it was a marathon, I hadn't expected it to be easy! We are now both hobbling a bit, and during our 2 days recovering in Inverness we spotted a number of people similarly tender on their feet. It was a great experience and we are thrilled we managed to meet our fundraising target thanks to all of you.
Thanks again, Nik.
Hey, thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
So, Annie and I agreed to do a marathon over a nice meal and a good bottle of wine (last time I take Annie out). We have started training, and we would really appreciate it if you would support us in this mad endeavour by pledging some money to support Macmillan Cancer Support.
They have told me I should say that... Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Macmillan Cancer Support gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So if you you have a few spare pounds and think my efforts are worth it, please click "Sponsor Us Now" above.
Cheers,
Nik.
