Why does Mencap need its very own Santa?
Mencap needs a Santa to bring some Christmas goodwill to people with a learning disability, their families, supporters… and cats. I hate Christmas, but my human companion, Nina Clarke, loves it - she's always trying to spread festive cheer for all to hear (she made me say it). Although if I hear 'Jingle Bells' one more time I'll scream…
What special qualities do you have that would make you the perfect Santa for 2007?
Well, I'd be a perfect Christmas Scrooge, but I suppose I can admit that Nina would be a fantastic Santa. She's generous, kind and always goes overboard at Christmas. In fact, you should see her hallway - it's decked with so many boughs of holly I can hardly find my way to my cat flap to escape all the Christmas cheer!
Santa is responsible for the magic and spirit of Christmas. If you could grant the Mencap community one wish, what would it be?
Despite my best bah humbug-ing, I'd want everyone to have a truly purr-fect Christmas (guess what, Nina made me say it again!). I wanted to wish for my own personal frog to terrorise or for all dogs to disappear but she wouldn't let me…
