Case study: donations in action

Laughter, silence, gasps, all sounds that the Trust's staff involved in education enjoy as they work with groups (of all ages!).

Education is an important part of our conservation work. We will always manage habitats and landscape, but it is people's attitudes towards the environment that shapes their treatment of their own local space, their expectations of government and so the treatment of the natural world as a whole.

Two examples of Trust projects putting this into action ...

Orchards: By the end of a year long project as well as learning about how a habitat works, the children had planted, grafted and cared for their apple trees, harvested and pressed fruit, and learned about the wildlife that will share their orchard.

Anglesey Coastal nature reserve project: The aim was to raise awareness in local children and communities about the importance of biodiversity and conservation by enabling them to explore the array of unique wildlife habitats on their local doorstep.

Rhosneigr Seashore safari in Marine Week 2011 ~ buckets of shore crabs, hermit crabs, and some velvet swimming crabs .. as vicious as they look!
