Story
Welcome & thanks for visiting.
I am organising an abseil event from an iconic building in Central London for at least 25 people. There is a registration fee to cover the abseil company that will be covered outside the sponsorship that you are generously donating here.
In the comments field please be kind and in the donation's field go crazy and add a few more zero's in support of the medical staff and patients through your donations to GUCH.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Grown Up Congenital Heart Patients Association will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you, so please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support!!
A little background for those who wish to know;
After being diagnosed with an Atrial Septal Defect (a hole in my heart) back in July 2006, I had keyhole surgery which was un-successful as the hole was in an awkward place. I had only one option left to close the hole - open heart surgery, not what you expect at 28 years of age!
The surgery was scheduled for December 2006 and after quite a few stressful and painful days (some of which I lost) I was through and on the other side thanks to todays medical knowledge and great medical staff. I was discharged before Christmas and able to welcome the New Year of 2007 alive and well.
Over the next few months through help from family, friends, neighbours and medical staff in St Albans Batchwood Hospital I was on the mend and as a result of this experience I have taken on raising awareness and support for GUCH.
Thank you very much for your listening and your kind support.
Neil Turner
