I've seem to have got myself into a pickle, having agreed to run in the BUPA Great North Run (which in my mind is running 13 miles of hell).
All is in not in vain, as my sister and I will be doing it all in the name of Charity!
We aim to raise money for Sickle Cell Society - a based charity which provides care for sickle cell anemia sufferers.
An inherited genetic disorder of the red blood cells. Which over time Sickle Cell sufferers can experience severe pain and damage to vital organs and shorting life expectancy.
For more information on our chosen charity please visit http://www.sicklecellsociety.org
We would both appreciate your support in raising money for the charity.
Dig deep in to those pockets, look behind the sofa's - even if it's money you found on the street - that includes all you lot overseas we're more than happy to accept Naira, Euros', Dollars'.
It's either that or we'll come and shake you upside down by your ankles until the money fall's out of your pockets (trust me, you don't want carol to do that - she's even taller than me!?!?!?)
Again we are both very grateful for any donations how ever big or small!
It all make's a difference, and you'll also get the satisfaction of doing your good deed for the day! :)
Thank you
The Okaroh-non-runner-total-total-novice's/plodders!!!!
Photos of our wrecked selves after the run will be posted - (trust me it won’t be a pretty site - a bit like the photo of carols trainers!)
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
