GOOD NEWS!

On 25th Aug Monday Bank Holiday I have raised  up to £185 with the great help from Tower hamlets Community Park Rangers and football teams that turned up to play tournamnet for ICT! BIG Thank You to all who partcipated!! I was great to see my friends and new people who joint forces together that day!

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Hi everybody,

Good news is that I am still taking the challenge! I have been cycling as much I can, especially at work, as I have a privilege of working in Tower Hamlets Parks http://www.towerhamlets.gov.uk/data/discover/data/parks/data/rangers.cfm
and recently got the chance to cycle as part of the community ranger scheme. I have also been hiking in Polish Tatra's - part of Karpatian Mountains, trying to keep up with my stamina during the short holidays. I am trying my best to get fitter and fitter; hopefully I will prove it in India?  You can see a map of the route here http://maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?hl=en&gl=uk&ptab=2&ie=UTF8&oe=UTF8&msa=0&msid=107217326766942459340.00045287d7076d56e4314.

Please help!

I have finally managed to book collections on the underground and street collection due on 16th September; yesterday have managed to raise £109 at Whitechapel station, the fancy wig helped!

But bad news is that I am nowhere near the fundraising target and time is running fast! I have to raise the first instalment of Ł1500 is required by Friday 5th September 2008! The remaining Ł1500 is due by Friday 24th October 2008.

The money will particularly support the Vilpatti village project in southern India.  More information can be found here http://www.ict-uk.org/india01.html.

THANK YOU!

What’s happening in Vilpatti Village Tamil Nadu

The Indian government has encouraged children in Vilpatti to pro-actively initiate social initiatives. Through the SEEDS Education Awareness Programme, Children in Vilpatti village are becoming increasingly aware of the health risks associated with pollution and dirt. In June One Children’s Club in Vilpatti petitioned local government to keep public areas and streets clean by providing better drainage facilities, dustbins and street lights. Although the government received the petition and promised to take action, nothing happened so, the children took the initiative and organised to clean up the streets themselves, Vilpatti was completely clean within 3 hours. The local newspaper published the children’s concerns about public cleanliness and hygiene and the local news channel reported the children-led clean-up initiative.

Big thank you to Rachel, Alan, Susan and Vicky for first donations!!!!!!

Hi everyone! (Witam wszystkich!)

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

Imagine for one minute... how it would be to not have home, water to drink or not to have a bath, no meals, no classroom to meet new friends and no chance to learn about the world. Imagine being only 4 or 5 and leave on the streets. Imagine being alone. I honestly can't. I was fortunate. Therefore, help me to help these children that are not as fortunate as some of us!

I am going to take part in a great challenge inSouth Indiain November this year. I will be cycling almost 400km, from Kerala to Kodaikanal in 5 days, to raise minimum of £3000 for International Childcare Trust. The money raised will make a big difference to the poorest children in this area.

Just to give you an idea how little money can make big difference:

£5 will pay for tetanus vaccinations for 20 kids.

£15 would provide 2street children with healthcare for one month.

£20 would cover the cost of school uniform and annual school fee for one child per year.

£50 would provide a child with daily meals.

£100 would offer care and support to a child worker/orphan and their family for two months.
