VESL is a small charity run by a dedicated team of past volunteers. We run worthwhile well-supported educational projects in the neediest communities in Thailand, Sri Lanka & India. Our volunteers help rural schools teach English, support orphanages, hospices & community development projects.
As you may know, I am off to Thailand for five weeks at the end of July. I'm going to be teaching English in a primary school, in the northern province of Chiang Rai. I'll be working with the charity 'Volunteers for Educational Support and Learning' (www.vesl.org) who help send teachy type volunteers to poor rural communities throughout Asia. Basically they're just really brilliant and ace.
I'm sure you all know how much I want to be a teacher, (I harp on about it enough!) and this is going to be some fab experience for me, I really can't wait. I'm going to be doing lots of working and fundraising to raise as much of the cash I need as possible. ...But if you feel you could spare a pound or two for this very worthy cause, I will be your bestest friend for ever and ever and ever!
If you donate some money through this tintinet page instead of just giving it to me in person, not only is it really quick and easy but also, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation. Awesomeness all round!
So pretty, pretty please-with-a-cherry-on-top sponsor me now!
