RAF Association - Storybook Wings

Imagine you are five.
That you get frightened in the dark.
And your daddy is 4,000 miles away.
That he is in the RAF.
In Afghanistan.
Imagine how you worry when you go to sleep.
Imagine if he could read you a bedtime story every night.
Even though he was 4,000 miles away.
Imagine how close you'd feel.

This is Olivia Sing. Her dad Kev is a Tornado GR4 aircraft electrician currently serving in Kandahar. He will miss Olivia’s birthday. He won’t be home for Christmas. But every night he reads Cinderella to Olivia and her family. Kev was able to record the story and a special message on a CD using professional equipment and editors thanks to our Storybook Wings initiative. So even though they’re so far apart, they can still be together.

The RAF Association helps both former and serving RAF personnel and their families through a wide range of welfare projects.  Please help us to help more families like Olivia's by making a donation here.

Your support really does help.  Many thanks.
