3 DAY 200km CYCLING MARATHON around County Clare In AID Of KIDZONE
(Sat. 22nd October - Mon. 24th October 2011)
This October OLSGEIRE will again be taking on a new challenge to make a difference to people’s lives. The team will return once again to Ireland to complete a three day cycle, starting in Clare and finishing in Gort (Galway). They will be attempting to complete a challenging Bike ride along the coastal area's of Kilkee and Doolin passing through Lisdoonvarna before attempting the gruelling Corkscrew Hill into Ballyvaghan and then inland via Kinvarra and onto Gort Saturday 22 – Monday 24 of October.
Just like any other year there’s a very worthwhile cause behind the cyclists efforts. This year our focus will be to help 25 orphaned girls in Kenya and help change their lives forever. We want to make a difference to their lives in Nairobi by helping them to move away from the dangers of the city to a new safer home.
At the moment their safety and future opportunities is our prime objective. With the money raised from the cycle ride we will help them make a place they can call home. Where they live presently is small and situated in a school class room. Within this confined space and inadequate facilities the girls struggle to have the room and space they deserve. The dream of kidzone is to move the girls to a much more suitable environment where their quality of life and their opportunities can be significantly improved. This year both Tony Elliott and Noel Sainsbury visited the program in Nairobi to meet and spend time with the girls.
Please support us in changing the lives of 25 girls.
