Latest Update (5th May) -  I completed the Great West Run yesterday in 2 hours 13 minutes which was 5 minutes quicker than last year so I am very happy (as you can see from the photo of me proudly sporting my shiny new medal and T-shirt!). The race was great fun and I although I ache a bit today it was well worth it! A massive THANK YOU to everyone who has sponsored me so far and helped me raise loads of money for Familes For Children Zambia (FFCZ). The webpage will be staying open for a few more weeks and donations are still very welcome...so keep on giving...!! Love Anne x

On 4 May 2008 I will be running the Great West Run half marathon (13.1miles!) in Exeter to raise money for Families for Children Zambia (FFCZ).

FFCZ is a small charity set up in 2001 by a group of Zambian people and a group of project sponsors based locally in Bishopsteignton here in South Devon. The charity has set up 4 community projects in Zambia, working with vulnerable children - many of whom have been orphaned due to AIDS. The projects provide food, health care and education and help communities to become more independent. Because this is a small charity with no paid staff in the UK, the admin costs are kept to a bare minimum which means the money you donate can be chanelled directly to the communities in Zambia who need it the most.

So please dig deep and give what you can...every little helps and just to give you an idea:
- £5 can pay for a mosquito net to protect a child from Malaria
- £10 can buy the basic food and soap needed for a household for a month
- £35 can pay a teacher's salary for a month

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Families For Children Zambia will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
