Following the success of Fiona's rallies to Gambia and Mongolia, She decided to take things a little further. This time she will be driving more than 22,000 miles from the UK to Australia. Passing through Iran, Pakistan, India, Nepal, China, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Indonesia, East Timor and finally Australia. Rica, known more for her globetrotting culinary journeys than rallying jumped at the chance to explore such remote regions of the world in a beat up old car...now she just needs to learn how to drive a manual gearbox!!
We've chosen to support "No More Landmines" on this trip because they are a well run charity who work in many of the countries on our route. Money donated here will go towards clearing landmines in Kosovo. You can chose to donate here to the project in Kosovo or alternatively you can send your donation to the Cope rehabilitation centre in Laos by donating via our other page: www.justgiving.com/ozrally
A big, reliable 4x4 would of course be the sensible choice for this trip which is why we're taking a 40 year old VW Beetle. Travelling in something a little more characterful seems to help win friends in foreign lands and the Beetle is hugely popular with children. Of course there may be a few reliablility issues to overcome in the back of beyond but thats all part of the challenge.
You can support us by credit and debit card or even Paypal and if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you..
So please sponsor us now and don't forget to follow our progress on www.ozrally.org
Many thanks for your support.
Fiona and Rica xx
